    Restrictions to accessibility:

As a general rule, all of the website’s pages were built to meet level AA conformance to web content accessibility. Nevertheless, despite our efforts to make all of the website’s pages accessible, it is possible that some parts of the site are still inaccessible. We note that a number of pages contain external components that are beyond our control and inaccessible. Therefore, the following pages do not meet the accessibility standard:

Master Plan

In 2007, Ramat Hanadiv began to develop a master plan for the future. For the first time since its establishment in 1954, the organisation formally defined its vision and accompanying goals and principles by which its programmes and activities would be guided.

Ramat Hanadiv's current vision received its inspiration from the initial 1958 legal declaration of the memorial park's purpose: ‘Ramat Hanadiv shall hold these estates and manage them as a public garden and park dedicated forever to celebrating the blessed memory of Benjamin de Rothschild.’

The above-stated objective is complemented by recognition of the unique place of Ramat Hanadiv in the Israeli context. This uniqueness is not due to the presence of exceptional species or unusual archaeological or historical findings in the Park, but to its character as a site that in many ways exemplifies the Israeli and Mediterranean landscape with its diversity and wealth of species, and with the characteristic dilemmas and issues raised by the management of open spaces.

Thus, Ramat Hanadiv's current vision reflects a dynamic reality epitomized by a constant aspiration to strike a balance between heritage on the one hand, and environmental values on the other; between activities designed to appeal to the populace and activities designed to protect nature.

The decision to prepare a master plan reflected recognition that the scope and scale of activities at Ramat Hanadiv have increased. In a process led by an external planner and guided by a steering committee, Ramat Hanadiv consolidated its identity and defined the vision that would guide its work. The guiding values were defined more clearly and were discussed by Park staff and by external entities and experts. The next stage in the process was the definition of long-term goals and objectives.

The hope is that the master plan will enable management and staff to guide future activities in desirable directions, and to identify and respond to new opportunities so as to optimize the utilization of existing resources.
